What memory would you never want to be erased?
What do you like to play with your grandparents the most?
If you took a rocket that took you back to the time when your parents or grandparents were your age, what would you do together?

  • Sinopse

In May, we’re heading back to school!

Paula Delecave, illustrator of the recently released book O avô tem uma borracaha na cabeça (Grandpa Has an Eraser on His Head)—with text by Rui Zink and published by Porto Editora—brings the collage style and the book’s themes—memory and forgetting—to this workshop, where we’ll travel through different eras without leaving the same spot.

“Just like in the book O avô tem uma borracha na cabeça (Grandpa Has an Eraser on His Head), where the boy and his grandfather have a strong bond, I, too, learned and experienced many things with my grandmother. I have so many memories of her: making Carnival costumes, going on trips, or having family lunches.

At my grandmother’s house, I made lots of collages, and that’s what we’ll be doing in the “Remembering Memories” workshop. Whether they’re with your grandparents or with someone in your family from a different time than your own.

We’ll create a short memoir. It will consist of drawings, collages, texts, and photographs (bring your own!) created during the workshop through activities centered on our memories—as if we were explorers or archaeologists and could travel in a time machine.

To participate, it’s very important to bring a photograph—or a copy that you can cut out—of yourself and one of the person with whom you share memories, whether a family member or a friend.”
