Synopsis

AMPLA is a film showcase featuring award-winning films from major film festivals held in Portugal. To ensure maximum inclusivity, all films are screened with descriptive subtitles, Portuguese Sign Language interpretation, and audio description.

A film filled with a series of absurd scenes proving that cats, contrary to popular belief, are not solid but liquid.

The Great Mother Spider – Animation, no dialogue, 10 min.
Family values are the most significant in life, our greatest treasure. Thus, the Great Spider creates the first human and teaches him the meaning of life, helping him build his own family.

Yuck! – Animation, spoken in French with Portuguese subtitles, 13 min.
Yuck! Couples kissing on the mouth are disgusting. And the worst part is, you can’t avoid seeing it—when people are about to kiss, their lips turn pink and shiny. Little Léo laughs at them, just like all the kids at summer camp. But he has a secret he won’t tell his friends: his own lips have started to shine. And deep down, Léo desperately wants to try kissing.

In an underground coal mine, a boy named Sonny takes care of his canary, whose role is to detect deadly gases. He teaches the bird to play dead as a prank on the workers.

Noma, a soft white cloud, realises that her daughter, Mixtli, a dark storm cloud, is at risk of dissolving into rain too soon.
