Me Here, You There

Synopsis

ME HERE, YOU THERE is a play of initiation into listening. Listening to the other. But also, about the difficulties of expressing ourselves and making ourselves understood. We will approach the need to relearn everything we think we already know.

Based on the universe of interviews conducted with children throughout Continental Portugal as well as the Islands, this play is interested in the identity creation process. Placing the focus on language, ways of speaking as well as how I define myself in relation to the other through what I say. It is precisely on this border that exists between the intimate space (me, here) and contact with the other (you, there) that this play is born. Behind a “word” there is always a person, who uses that linguistic mechanism, in a gesture of approximation.
