LU.CA’s First Anniversary

LU.CA – Teatro Luís de Camões’s first anniversary coincides with World Children’s Day. Since these are two great reasons to celebrate, we’re presenting a free three-day program for schools and families, which begins at the theater and extends out onto the sidewalk next to the entrance on Calçada da Ajuda.

During these days, we’re launching LU.CA’s Listening Points, where artists and creators leave messages for the audience, explain artistic choices, present soundtracks from the show, and more, exploring different forms of engagement in which the creator also serves as a facilitator.

Over the weekend, on stage, you can watch the contemporary circus performance Smashed by the Gandini Juggling company, while the street serves as a performance space for EZ Aviador’s acts.

Along the promenade, there are activities exploring the history of LU.CA and workshops running throughout the afternoon, where you can build wonderful orchards, paint with plants, fruits, and vegetables, and create seed banks from every continent to plant during the growing seasons.

And since parties call for cakes, we’ve invited a cake designer to create a masterpiece “to behold and savor.”
