Synopsis

What attracts and repels you from your city’s cultural spaces? What voice do you want to articulate in a museum, or a theatre? In this Listening Laboratory we will ask questions, but above all, listen.

At LU.CA we want to know if for you a theatre can be a space for cultural and political education, freedom and identification. We are going to take to the stage to meet, talk and discuss the function of these spaces, but also more recent cultural memories and how we want to project a theatre into our future.

The Listening Laboratory – Youth, Culture and Participation is developed in the scope of the Youth in Museums research project, coordinated by Carolina Silva, researcher of the Instituto de Ciências Sociais of the Universidade de Lisboa. It is developed in articulation with five institutions: MAAT – Museum of Art, Architecture and Technology, BoCA – Biennial of Contemporary Art, the Municipal Galleries and LU.CA – Teatro Luís de Camões, in Lisbon and Casa da Cerca – Contemporary Art Centre, in Almada.
