  • Synopsis

For the second year in a row, LU.CA challenged schools to create, based on a play script, a production to be presented at our theater. The play, written by Miguel Castro Caldas, was in development with the support of four artists (Raquel André, Manuel Henriques, Vanda R. Rodrigues, and Miguel Maia) when the global pandemic we are experiencing confined us to our homes. In this new situation, artists, students, and teachers decided not only to continue the project but also to explore what this new reality and digital tools have to offer.

At the same time, Miguel Castro Caldas and Sara Franqueira, the project’s set designer, have embraced the entrepreneurial spirit of these young actors and, inspired by them, will also present two projects based on the author’s text.

Audiences will also be able to watch a staged reading of the author’s text, streamed on LU.CA’s Facebook page.

On June 8, right after the weekend, it’s time for us to reflect together on the challenges of creation and design in a session that will include the artists, the author, the set designer, parents, students, and teachers.

Projects are available for watchig on vimeo for one week.
