Moral stories are told about the qualities and flaws we all possess. Because human nature is complex, the fable was invented. It illustrates situations we empathize more deeply with because they feature animals. Whether children or adults, we all recognize the fox’s feigned disdain as it gazes at the delicious grapes it covets but cannot reach. We owe short stories like this to Aesop (in Ancient Greece) and, later, to Jean de La Fontaine, who gave them unprecedented popularity in the 17th century.
This concert, a joyful encounter between music and words, will awaken the consciousness and genuine curiosity of those hearing a story for the first time.
