Synopsis

A revolution that is celebrated with the name of a flower could only be a poetic act. Painter Vieira da Silva demonstrated this in the famous canvas she painted after the 25th of April 1974, in which she inscribed the phrase “Poetry is in the streets”. In the 25 for 3 project, poetry is on stage and in the act of sharing by the students of two Lisbon schools, who transform a selection of poems written before and after the Carnation Revolution into a performance that evokes the power of memory and transformation.

About the Project

The project at the root of the 25 for 3 performance seeks to implement a triparty work methodology and explore a continuous model of relationships between schools and institutions. A cultural institution (LU.CA – Teatro Luís de Camões/EGEAC) joined two forms of specialized artistic learning, namely the professional acting course of the Escola Secundária Gil Vicente and the course in Specialized Artistic Production of the Escola Secundária Antóno Arroio, both in Lisbon. The creation of a performative object to be presented on stage results from the articulation between the two classes in a model of harmony and cooperation, which results in a creative process and a mutual artistic creation bringing together dozens of students.
