LU.CA – Teatro Luís de Camões is the first space in Portugal exclusively dedicated to performing arts for childhood and adolescence. This responsibility led us to create the cycle Children, a theatre and a city to, together with other programmers for children and young people, artists, educators, academics and the children themselves, reflect on the role of children in the cultural choices of cities and the role of theatre (as a cultural and artistic space) in the community and educational territory.
We therefore designed a programme for younger audiences and another aimed at all those who wish to take part in building knowledge about cultural practices for childhood in cities, in the context of children’s development and the promotion of citizenship.
