Group exhibition comissioned by Ó! Galeria
In June we invited Ó! Galeria to commission an exhibition in LU.CA’s middle floor
Exhibitions are collections of works of art created by artists: this we all know. Sometimes, an artist presents a body of work, and other times, there is someone who joins various artists – and their works – in a room, under a common theme.
In June we invited Ó! Galeria, which is based in Porto, to get to know our home in Ajuda, and as a gesture of celebration of the theatre’s anniversary and Children’s Day, to commission an exhibition in LU.CA’s middle floor. What this means is that Ó! Galeria is coming to “take over” this space and choose, mediate and accompany the various Portuguese artists who created works, in small formats, especially for this date.
1 June: 5:30 pm
Ó! Galeria, located within the scintillating Miguel Bombarda block in Porto, is a project focussing on illustration, drawing, books, zines and signature pieces. Since 2009 it has been presenting the best examples of illustration from all over the world. Ema Ribeiro is the proud head of this gallery and works with a group of collaborators, mostly young and promising illustrators. Since June 2020 Ó! Cerêmica has also existed: a new gallery dedicated to ceramics with workshops and ateliers.
