Synopsis
The Middle Floor at LU.CA once again becomes home to a shop full of Alexandre O’Neill’s objects, ideas and mementoes that nobody can actually buy. Filled with poetic souvenirs, memorabilia and remembrances inspired by the poet’s life and work, this exhibition playfully explores the world of museum shops and cultural merchandising, replacing them with humour, imagination and, of course, poetry. In this shop, the only truly indispensable item is curiosity.
Lavandaria
A graphic design and screen-printing studio housed in a former neighbourhood laundrette in Lisbon. Inside, you’ll find Mariana and Marta, who know every corner of the theatre. They have created fanzines, led workshops, printed screen prints for exhibitions – including André Ruivo’s – and have even made their way onto the LU.CA stage through the set design of a performance.
Luís Leal Miranda
He studied Communication Sciences, helped found the newspapers Sol and i, was editor-in-chief of Time Out Lisboa, and has written for television. He is the author of Desdicionário da Língua Portuguesa and, in 2018, founded Livraria Plutão, where he has since published more than ten books. Journalist, screenwriter, playwright, copywriter, author and publisher, he shares O’Neill’s flair for performing acrobatics with words.
