Description

The lives of postmodern princesses continue to be full of troubles and dilemmas that leave the heart pounding. But do today's concerns still have the round shape of a pea?

Synopsis

Inside a princess’s mind, a thousand anxieties bounce around, and they aren’t exclusive to the kingdom – they’re ours too, and can even keep us up at night. But do today’s worries still resemble the round shape of a pea? We’re not sure, but the lives of post-modern princesses remain full of predicaments and dilemmas that set our hearts racing. We share troubles and questions about what we’ll become in ten years or what we’ll wear to the next party. Fortunately, shoes no longer need to fit perfectly, but we do need to pick the pair that will help us walk through the coming days with more confidence — and if they’re comfortable, all the better. Trainers included, of course.

Mariana, a miserável wanted to be a florist when she was little. But after leaving her hometown of Leiria, Mariana Santos discovered that not everything is a bed of roses. In Caldas da Rainha, she earned a degree in Graphic Design. In Porto, where she now lives, she began a Master’s at the Faculty of Fine Arts (which she didn’t complete) and established herself as an illustrator under the name Mariana, a miserável (the miserable). She has developed solo and group illustration exhibitions and various projects, from books to small-edition publications, from tiles to posters, diaries to murals, and magazines to newspapers.
