What happens when a classic literature work meets a videogame?
Synopsis
MACBAD is the third project of a series of performances by Teatro Praga, devoted to the younger audience and inspired by the English playwright William Shakespeare’s masterpieces.
This time, Teatro Praga throws itself to one of the playwriter’s cursed plays, Macbeth: the “Scottish play” that features a trio of witches and their prophecies.
In this story, the hero and villain Macbeth is called MacBad – as the real bad guy he is – and he will fulfill the three witches’ prophecies while trying to run away from them. The spectator is the protagonist and a gamer, who makes sure that the story ends. To do so, the performance resources to mechanisms inspired by famous role-playing game systems, such as Dungeons & Dragons and Game Centers. So there will be several games-within-the-game, and everything will converge so that the prophecies come true despite everything.
