Description
In this exhibition, each line is a sentence, a ball of yarn, a road.
Synopsis
Rachel unravels the thread of this exhibition, blending drawings from the book and the performance Whirlwind (The Girl and the Circle). Like Carolina, the protagonist of the book, Rachel loves lines because every line is a path: to the mountains, to the sea, to the theatre, to the beach. And every line is a trace that can draw many things: a horse, a whale, a peacock, an elephant, a dream. Every line is a sentence, a thread, a road. Rachel weaves all these ideas together with lines, threads, and traces.
Rachel Caiano lives among pencils, brushes, needles, dogs, guitars, and multiplication tables. She tries to stretch time, but doesn’t always succeed, which is why she does several things at once. She inhabits a labyrinth of books, paint, and papers, where illustrations are born – later published in magazines, newspapers, and books. She loves dancing and making music, designing costumes and sets, reading, and strolling along the seashore.
