Four short films directed by Walt Disney recently restored and accompanied by live music performed by Tó Trips.
Synopsis
Walt Disney’s first films date back to the 1920s. They are little treasures filled with creativity, humour and poetry, showcasing an impressive technical virtuosity for that era. Alice’s Comedies are short films starring the exuberant Alice, a little flesh-and-blood heroine who moves in a world of cartoons. This unique programme comprises four recently restored black and white films, accompanied by live music performed by Tó Trips.
The Wild West Show (1924, USA, Live-Action, Animation)
During her “wild west show,” Alice narrates her encounters in the Old West with Indians and bandits. A truly feminist western!
The Haunted House (1924, USA, Live-Action, Animation)
In search of her baseball, Alice enters a haunted house and finds herself in a town full of ghosts…
Fishing Day (1924, USA, Live-Action, Animation)
Alice discreetly escapes with her group of friends for a fishing trip full of surprises, ending up in the North Pole with Eskimos.
A Day at Sea (1924, USA, Live-Action, Animation)
A sailor recounts his shipwreck to Alice, who immediately becomes the heroine of an underwater epic. A dreamlike dive into the magical world of cartoons.
